EtherLite & WiLite
Ethernet - RS485/RS232 Communications Interface
Manage a NET92 or any RS232 device from the host computer via a LAN, WAN or the Internet, as if it were connected locally
EtherLite and WiLite are communication interfaces which connect RS485/232 equipment to Ethernet and WLAN 802.11b networks. Any serial equipment with any asynchronous protocol can use EtherLite or WiLite to send and receive data on local or geographical networks based on IP protocols.
Moreover, EtherLite and WiLite implement and manage directly the TMC-NET92 protocol to use the TMC terminals. The communication is extremely efficient: the polling of all the terminals connectable in RS485 is carried out locally. DLL libraries and an OCX module are available to support the communications with a PC for this purpose, also the API standard (socket or Winsock for UDP) can be used.

In the picture you can see the connection of terminals or, in general, RS232 and 485 devices from other vendors to a remote PC equipped with an Ethernet interface. In this case, it is possible to carry out an on-line system by using an OCX control (available on AXESS TMC website free of charge) for the software development.

• NET92 Protocol: 9600, 19200, 57600 baud - Can be disabled
• RS232 Handshake: hardware (CTS, RTS) and/or software (XON-XOFF and/or ACK-NAK)
• Messages terminator: buffer length, timeout or character both definable
• Buffer length for messages to Ethernet: >768 bytes in UDP mode - transparent
Development Support
Along with EtherLite and WiLite, TMC supplies:
• EtherTest , a program for immediate remote testing and configuration of all EtherLite/WiLite parameters and for terminals testing. It is provided along with the source code which shows the format of the UDP packets and of the communication with EtherLite/WiLite using the WinSocket API.
• EtherCtrl.OCX for developing your online/offline applications. Demo program for evaluation and testing is provided in VB6 source code.
